VIDEO TUTORIALS

Dark Horse Golf Designs is pleased to announce our video tutorial series.
As you may notice , the last 2 videos have big file sizes for low minutes.  This is because the screen size of the last two are much bigger than the first for better clarity.

The video formats are avi format,  made with the Camtasia Producer. You would need camtasia codecs to view them. Also,  I would recommend that you use the Camtasia player as this provides a better looking video than Windows Media Player.  Get Camtasia Player and codecs  here.

Basic Seam Blending
a video tutorial by John "Firehead" Pineda

The first video tutorial on one of the most anticipated features of APCD 1.5, Seam Blending. The video will show how to add seam blending to a bunker.  I did not compress the video's this time so they will be better appreciated.

APCD MY WAY

a video tutorial by John "Firehead" Pineda

In the same way that Jack Nicklaus named his book Golf My Way, and Tiger named his How I Play Golf, I think it is pretty apt to name this video tutorial APCD My Way.  As there are a lot of techniques used in APCD, what is included in the video are my approach towards APCD.  They may not be the best method but they are the method I am most comfortable in.   A picture may say a thousand words, but this video could definitely be the best APCD tutorial ever. I do hope this tutorial can help a lot of future designers.

24 minutes of APCD. This video covers everything from mesh work, elevation, and planting. This video came from about 900MB of raw AVI files. The final size of 45MB is the best that I can do. I assure you it is worth the download if you want to see how I play with APCD.

Vert and  Edge Ring Tutorial
a video tutorial by Eddie "Golfzilla" Schmidt

Details: I thought this tutorial here might be useful to some, it isn't the absolute way it must be done, everyone has a different style, but when able this is the method I use for perfect rings. It's a pretty fast way to do it, compared to some others.

Some of the different tools of apcd I used making the tutorial is as follows, Under Plan Tab Create shape and Copy shape Under Terrain Tab *Edge- I used perimeter select, sharpness, split and turn. *Vertex- I used box select, region select, add, flatten, move and scale. *Face-I used drag select, region select, apply texture, and extrude.

Basic Mapping and 3d from Terrain

a video tutorial by John "Firehead" Pineda

This video covers basic mapping and basic 3d creation from terrain.  The video features a par-4 dogleg hole with an island green.  The island green itself has (for tutorial purposes) a pot bunker.

Mappings done on the tutorial were on the fairway, the fairway bunker lip, pot bunker, bulk heading of island green, a water tower, and on the mini-clubhouse.
